The Four Satipaṭṭhāna
เกิด–ดับ อริยสัจ 4 ฝึกเห็น ด้วยสติปัฏฐาน
Summary
On hearing the first discourse, Koṇḍañña saw one thing and entered the stream immediately.
That one thing: whatever is subject to arising is subject to ceasing — which is the spine of the Four Noble Truths.
The way to train that seeing is the four satipaṭṭhāna, which can be carried into ordinary life.
Key points
One thing is enough if it is genuinely seen
What changes is not the quantity of knowledge but that seeing differs from understanding.
Arising and ceasing is not a theory
It is observable in the breath, the feeling and the thought occurring right now.
Satipaṭṭhāna is a method, not a topic
The four are places to establish attention, not a list to memorise.
It works during the day, not only on the cushion
That is what separates this from practice requiring a set-aside hour.
